Channel 8 Press
Channel 8 Press exists because when you buy your own ISBNs someone, somewhere, demands a publisher name and you can’t just leave the field blank, so you make something up and move on. I could have called it anything—Vinestead Press, Verastiqui House of Vanity, whatever—but Channel 8 felt like the natural choice, mostly because it’s been following me around since I was a kid running a single-line bulletin board called Channel 8 BBS while my dad was stationed in Japan, and later when I repurposed the name for a so-called production company, Channel 8 Studios, that churned out videos far too questionable for the era and thankfully long before YouTube could immortalize them.
Channel 8 Press is simply the next stop on that accidental lineage, not a real company or a grand publishing endeavor, just a name to satisfy a form so I can get back to writing the kind of bold, life-changing, character-driven, cyberpunk-leaning stories that actually matter to me. And since you arrived here by way of channel8press.com, you should know this is probably the closest thing you’ll ever see to a proper page, because I have books to finish and no particular urge to dress this up any more than absolutely necessary.
