30 for 30: Day 29

It’s only natural that when you become a parent, you start thinking about all the things you used to do before you became a parent. “We used to be cool,” you say. You end up trying to reclaim some of those younger days, even if they weren’t as awesome as you remember. Today’s 3F3 is from the time we went back to ACL… and remembered why it had been so long since we went! I remember…

The year is 2019. I’m 39 years old.

I wanted to surprise Dom on her birthday with something special, so I found a photo of Kacey Musgraves and turned it into a puzzle. On the photo, I wrote something along the lines of “See you at ACL 2019!” And not just one day for Kacey. ALL. THREE. DAYS.

Fools, that’s what we were.

Enough time had passed that we had forgotten what ACL was actually like: hot, crowded, and really just tiring. But, we resolved to go enjoy ourselves, which we did. We saw Guns N’ Roses and Billie Eilish and The Cure and Kacey Musgraves. Axl was exhausted after a few minutes. It was funny.

There were a couple moments when the crowds were overwhelming, but otherwise, it was a lot of fun. Warm but not deathly so.

I’m really looking forward to going again in five years. 🙂
